Hair Straighteners is a category of hair styling tools that well, yes, you guessed it, helps you make your hair straight. Combining heat with other hair tools breaks the hydrogen bond in your hair shaft and makes them straight. Mind you, this is a temporary solution- depending on your hair- it can last up to 8 hours. And the results can be reversed at will if you apply water or if there is a lot of humidity.
Another thing to take into account is that as you are applying heat to your hair, you need to protect it, or it will get really dry. That is why I recommend you use one heat protectant spray always, whenever using any tool with heat over your precious tresses. It helps minimize the cuticle damage and of course, please do not tie or pin your hair after straightening it. It just defeats the purpose!
